ANI.ML Health at the Veterinary Cancer Society 2025
Oct 1, 2025

Our CEO, Dr. Christopher Pinard, recently led a Pre-Conference Workshop at the Veterinary Cancer Society (VCS) Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, titled “Artificial Intelligence in Veterinary & Comparative Oncology.”
In his session, Dr. Pinard explored how AI is transforming cancer care across species — from interpreting imaging and genomic data to improving diagnostics, treatment planning, and clinical decision support. He also tackled the real-world challenges of deploying these tools in veterinary settings, including data quality, ethics, and regulatory pathways — and offered a forward-looking glimpse at what an AI-empowered oncology clinic might look like by 2030.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to reconnect with leading minds in veterinary oncology, and to discuss how ANI.ML’s research and AI platforms can meaningfully contribute to the future of cancer care.
Some key reflections:
The appetite and momentum for integrating AI in veterinary oncology is growing — clinicians and researchers alike are eager for tools that can meaningfully support decision making.
Success hinges on collaboration: the best AI models are born from close partnerships between technologists, clinicians, pathologists, and regulatory thinkers.
Translational thinking is vital. What works in human oncology offers valuable lessons, but adaptation is critical when working across species and in the unique workflow environments of veterinary medicine.
We remain committed to building AI with transparency, clinical rigour, and real-world value — not just novelty.

Thank you to the VCS organizers, all the presenters, and every attendee who stopped by to chat about opportunities, challenges, and next steps. Looking forward to pushing the boundaries of veterinary cancer research — together.
