
Dr. Christopher Pinard

Medical Oncologist
Dr. Pinard is a clinician scientist and medical oncologist, an adjunct professor in the Department of Clinical Studies at the University of Guelph, and a research fellow at Sunnybrook Research Institute with an interest in comparative computational oncology. His research focus is on the development of computational platforms for clinical biomarkers in canine and feline cancers using novel artificial intelligence and machine learning methods that can be utilized in comparative research. He continues to bridge the use of technology, including spatial computing, 3D modelling, and artificial intelligence to improve patient care. He has co-authored several publications including and incorporating AI-based frameworks for clinical evaluation and discovery in cancer.

Dr. Samuel Hocker
DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology)
Medical Oncologist
Dr. Sam Hocker is a board certified veterinary medical oncologist who completed his veterinary degree at Kansas State University followed by a small animal rotating internship at the University of Missouri. He then returned to Kansas State University to complete a medical oncology residency. Prior to joining Evolution Veterinary Specialists in Lakewood, CO, he served as faculty at the Mona Campbell Centre for Animal Cancer at the Ontario Veterinary College and Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hocker lives in the Denver area and in his free time he enjoys hiking, fishing and cheering for the Kansas City chiefs.

Dr. Craig Clifford
DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology)
Medical Oncologist
Dr. Craig Clifford graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and received an MS in Animal Science/Virology from the University of Delaware. After completing an internship and a medical oncology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, he became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology) in 2003. He is a medical oncologist at BluePearl Malvern and was previously the director of BluePearl Science.
He is active in clinical research within a referral setting and serves as an advisory board member with industry and non-profit foundations. He has authored/co-authored over 70 papers and book chapters and is a frequent lecturer at major veterinary meetings in the USA and abroad. Dr. Clifford is a member of the Mars Veterinary Oncology Advisory Baord, has served on many VCS and ACVIM committees, is a member of the Oncology Pathology Working Group, and was an Examiner for the Australian Scientist’s Oncology Specialty Exam.
